Tooting our horn, Sadiq Khan MP visits the coffee shop to give us our award!
Our little cafe has been voted by over a thousand local residents to be the best coffee shop in South West London. Local MP Sadiq Khan will be honouring us with a visit this Friday at 11:30 to award us the "Taste Of Tooting" prize. There will be magic, coffee and cupcakes galore....hopefully Bertie's magic won't go awry and turn the Right Honourable into a brightly coloured ostrich!
Bertie and the Teleportation Spell!
When will Bertie learn? The other day he was playing around with Teleportation spells....and it worked!
But he forgot to learn RE-Teleportation spells so he had to ask for directions for the way back from a car park in Croydon. He didn't learn the "Magic Oyster Card Spell" either!
Bertie and Boo during the riots It's been a scary few days but thankfully Balham and Bertie & Boo have been spared the violence and destruction which nearby Clapham and Croydon suffered. However, two phone shops on the High Street were looted and our outside seating area was a temporary home for a group of thugs for a scary few minutes before they swarmed off (no doubt in search of more phone shops!) The next night something quite lovely happened though, the local community came together that evening to show we weren't afraid of the petty vandals in society. Business was booming in the coffee shop that night and local mums were joking how fearsome they could be when wielding le Creuset cookware!
Bertie and Boo's Summer so far.... We've been very busy at Bertie and Boo, we've been running round every weekend in a blur of magic and balloon animals. Aside from our many customer bookings we've also been busy with public shows. You might have caught us performing at the Balham Food Festival the other week and you can see some footage from that show on our YouTube channel here.

A quick thankyou from the local community
Bertie & Boo and the Friends of Hornsby House Association. To raise funds for a wheelchair for one of their pupils the FHHA are holding a Summer Fete at Hornsby House School on Saturday June 11th. We've dontated two prizes so come on down and help support a good cause as well as have a fun day out in the sun (hopefully!)

Bertie & Boo at Comic Relief The lovely people at 345 & Oaktree Nursery were helped in their fund raising by Boo on Comic Relief Day. Thanks partly to her antics (and balloon modelling) they managed to raised a staggering £9280.55 for good causes!
