"Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your thumbs, this is how the magic comes!"

Thirty excited five-year-olds (and one thoroughly entertained 20-something reviewer) wiggle their fingers delightedly and gaze entranced as Bertie and magic show partner Boo conjure a hat full of chocolate cookies out of an empty box. Finger-wiggling is the way forward, we are told, because the last time Boo used a magic wand she blew the roof off the house and accidentally turned Bertie into a giraffe! So we sit up straight, smile and be very good so that the magic works...

It's certainly working at this birthday party, where Bertie (also known as Sam) & Boo keep this demanding audience enraptured for an hour with a series of classic magic tricks, imaginary stories, flying carpets, puppets and sneezing paper, assisted at regular intervals by the children themselves, who proudly don their various accessories to complete each 'spell' and rescue Princess Boo from Wicked Wizard Wobble. After a break for food and cake, Bertie & Boo are up again, entertaining the kids in an hour of party games - mums, be prepared to join in an uproarious hokey-kokey finale,
Benie & Boo Pearce have been holding parties such as these for several years and now, following the opening of their new cafe in the centre of Balham, are particularly keen to offer their services to local families - including a 'Fairy Party' exclusively for girls.

Great fun. After seeing a party in progress, the real mystery is where they find the energy!
